Randy Ice, P.T. C.C.S. has many years of experience working with cyclists of all abilities from novice to competitive CAT 1 and RAAM racers. He founded SCOR Cardiac Cyclists Club in 1974 to meet the endurance exercise needs of people with cardiovascular disease. In the early 1980's, Randy began testing and training ultramarathon cyclists for RAAM and currently serves as medical consultant/board member for the Ultramarathon Cycling Association, and Bicycling Magazine, He has written extensively on nutrition, biomechanics and training. Randy is a graduate of USC and is a certified Cardiopulmonary Specialist. He began his cycling injury and analysis program in 1984 out of a need in the cycling community and as a personal interest.

Exercise Testing
VO2 Max, anaerobic threshold (AT), work output (Watts) and stress EKG for a complete assessment of your cardiovascular fitness. Knowing your AT heart will allow you to get the most benefit from your heart rate meter training.

  • Single lead EKG for low risk subjects $225
  • 12-lead EKG for diagnosing the presence or absence of coronary disease in high risk subjects $275

Pro Bike Fit I
A biomechanically based fitting of the cyclist to his/her bike for the purpose of prevention of overuse injury, optimizing power output, and/or determining proper frame size for future purchases.
Time required: 45-60 minutes

Pro Bike Fit II
An in-depth evaluation for the cyclist with pain (knee, back, neck, etc.) to determine the anatomical, biomechanical and/or bicycle-related causes.

Recommendations may include:

  • Bike fit modifications to achieve correct ergonomic position or to accommodate special orthopedic problems
  • Cycling orthotics
  • Kneesavers for increased toe-out, or women with a wider pelvis
  • Shoe and/or cleat build-up for leg length differences
  • Advice to increase flexibility for tight cycling muscles (hamstring, lumber paraspinals, etc.)
  • Correct frame size for future bike purchases

Time required: 60-90 minutes $200

Blood Chemistry Laboratory Analysis
How many times has a doctor told you "Everything is normal"? You have specific symptoms or you simply do not feel well, yet your blood tests are "normal." Our computerized laboratory analysis can identify deficiencies and imbalances in your chemistry even if your laboratory results are "within normal limits." This analysis uses a standard chemistry screen (22 items) and a CBC (complete blood count).
Lab tests only $75

Nutrition Consultation
Whether you are an athlete striving to improve your performance, or just an ordinary Joe/Jane trying to lose a few pounds or just trying to make sense of the myriad of food supplements and claims, we can help you achieve your athletic/health/nutrition goals. Individual nutrition consultations are based on your metabolism, knowledge and future goals.
